Grassroots Mobilization
Based on a foundation of committed and diverse local leadership, CASE’s grass-roots organizing campaigns bring together neighborhood, religious, political, environmental and labor organizations to imagine and fight for a future with family sustaining jobs; responsible environmental practices; and effective and respectful public safety, education, and public health programs.
Most often, those campaigns are designed to produce “Community Benefits Agreements” to ensure that economic policies and projects create such important local benefits as
- Local hiring and career opportunities for economically disadvantaged segments of our community
- Good jobs that pay a living wage and offer access to family health care
- Affordable housing located near those jobs and with access to quality schools
- Environmental and public health benchmarks
- Provisions for ‘green space’ and other essential elements for livable, safe communities
